Why are stink badgers included[edit]

They are literally badgers only in name. They are skunks in every other regard. I don't think anyone considers them to actually be a badger. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.127.128.19 (talk) 12:05, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

What badgers eat[edit]

I think the facts about the american badger's diet are from The Simpsons, and aren't real. Or mabye somebody didn't understand that the site www.whatbadgerseat.com is a joke website. Either way, it should be cited.

ALso, everybody knows that badgers love mashed potato. Citation: Bodger and Badger — Preceding unsigned comment added by 139.184.223.187 (talk) 12:00, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Factual omission[edit]

Hunting badgers is common in many countries, either as a perceived pest, or for sport. Roaming badgers may not be killed, nor their setts interfered with, except on licence from the government.

What country is referred to in the second line? My guess would be England, since that's the British spelling of "licence," but it's not clarified.

Honey badgers[edit]

Honey badgers or ratels are not true badgers, there are true badgers such as hog badgers and Eurasian badgers, but honey badgers do not deserve to be in the list.

A clouded leopard may be called a leopard but that still doesn't mean its a leopard. That's why you don't see both Panthera pardus and Neofelis nebulosa in the same Leopard wiki article.

The same can be said about the maned wolf.

The Honey badger wiki article states that they are more related to weasels than to badgers.

Despite its name, the honey badger does not closely resemble other badger species; instead, it bears more anatomical similarities to weasels.

You seem to be missing that this article is about things commonly called badgers, NOT about a formal taxon. Thus your argument re:Leopards fails. P.S. sign your posts!--Kevmin § 20:08, 12 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Badgers as pets[edit]

It's unlikely you'll be able to 'tame' a wild badger unless you get it as a cub: Chris Ferris in 'The Darkness is Light Enough' befriended some older badgers, but they were only habituated to her, certainly not pets. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.6.24.103 (talk) 12:31, 28 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I changed the language to "Badgers are sometimes kept as pets" and took out the part about being tamed. ‡ Єl Cid of Valencia talk 14:12, 28 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
