Persistence of vision[edit]

Could there be a page 'persistence of vision' which refers to the effect used by various devices to create text from a single line light source? note - am not voluteering at this stage... 00:20, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

NPOV[edit]

Are we deliberately avoiding mention on the WP policy on POV? Is it a policy to avoid such links? If so, why?DGG 04:09, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yup, WP:SELF. I'd guess the link at NPOV is deemed sufficient. --Quiddity 04:36, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Followed that format, and added; perhaps others may find it helpful.DGG 04:52, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • On Wikipedia, POV refers to the policy on Neutral point of view (NPOV)
That doesn't seem correct to me; rather it is NPOV which refers to Wikipedia:Neutral point of view policy. I intend to correct this, if no one objects. --17:29, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

Half-Life Mod[edit]

Shouldn't the Point of View Half-Life mod be thrown in with the rest of the Point of View (disambiguation) section? It seems to fit the same category. Just thought I should double-check to see that I'm not missing something. Galatix27 (talk) 17:39, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Privately Owned Vehicle[edit]

Initial comments moved to here from User talk:Quiddity.

Hi. You removed parts of the list at POV. I have added this part again: "Privately Owned Vehicle" - A motorized vehicle personally owned by a member of the United States armed forces, i.e. not a government-owned vehicle, or Volunteer Firefighters/EMT's who are permitted to run with lights/siren"
It's a very big part of the EMS and fire department service in the US (50% of all volunteers or so, use it). It might not have an article, YET, but I still think it's very important and relevant for a lot of people. Skibden (talk) 13:37, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Disregard last - I found a link to add (Courtesy lights) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Skibden (talkcontribs) 13:44, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. I've cleaned up the line a little, per MOS:DAB (manual of style:disambiguation).
Remaining problem 1: The article courtesy lights really needs to mention the phrase "privately owned vehicle" in it somewhere, in order to warrant the POV page linking to it (per MOS:DABMENTION). If you can determine where to add the mention, that would be great. :)
Remaining problem 2: The entry at POV needs to be as short as possible. Possibly we could rewrite it to something like:
  • Privately Owned Vehicle, a motorized vehicle permitted to run with Courtesy lights.
