Oh totally cellists. We currently have a bunch of electric guitars, two violins, and two weird keyboard instruments that you blow into (I forget the name!). The abortion thing is totally possible. I was in the YPMB 1976-1980. What was most notable about the pants-dropping stunt at Brown was that the game was televised. There was a cello in the band at that time--he had a wheel on the spike that comes from the bottom of the cello. I recall that his name was Matthew Gold (or maybe Golden). I don't recall that the band formed a "penis" on the field, but it often formed long tubular objects (like Castro's cigar) that might have been somewhat suggestive. One I recall was a "tennis racket" and two "tennis balls" that transformed into a female symbol to salute Renee Richards, the female tennis player who was formally a male Yalie. The halftime shows were substantially toned down after the Yale Bands changed directors in 1980 or 1981.

Dating of Group Photo[edit]

"Face of god" stunt[edit]

I'm removing the "face of god" stunt, as it does not match with the source (http://digital.library.yale.edu/cdm/compoundobject/collection/yale-ydn/id/13301/rec/18 middle of page 12). What actually happened, according to the source, was not a stunt. They just only sent announcers and the article author remarked that "the Yale Invisible Band formed the face of God".
