dubious claim[edit]

"Landau lies east of the Palatinate forest, Europe's largest contiguous forest, direct on the German Wine Route."

Is there no forest in Finland or Russia which is bigger than this forest ?? Hard to believe.Eregli bob (talk) 02:22, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Exclaves[edit]

Europe's largest contiguous forest?[edit]

A sentence in the article intro had read: "Landau lies east of the Palatinate forest, Europe's largest contiguous forest, on the German Wine Route."

I went ahead and removed the claim that it's "Europe's largest contiguous forest," as: 1) No citation was given. 2) The linked article doesn't claim this. 3) I find the claim rather dubious....I mean it probably is one of the largest forested areas within the densely populated core of Western Europe, but looking a Europe as a whole, there are certainly much larger contiguous forests in Scandinavia, European Russia, the Balkans, etc. -2003:CA:8722:33FA:FD59:22D1:899B:5698 (talk) 23:26, 11 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
