Delete first image, please.[edit]

Please delete the first image. My daughter-in-law is featured in the image and she is not a slut. She participated in the Slut shame walk almost a decade ago. The Slut shame walk entry is distinct from the Slut entry so any images for the former should not be used in the latter. Furthermore, I noticed the Slut entry is used in Wiki Education foundation-supported course assignments. These assignments should not use material with images that have nothing to do with the text being studied. Please replace the first image with one that is relevant to the entry. Thank you very much. We don't generally delete an image just because it features a relative of an editor who doesn't like it. The lead section, adjacent to the article, says: "... there have been attempts to reclaim the word, exemplified by various SlutWalk parades, and some individuals embrace the title as a source of pride." Perhaps the caption could be expanded to provide more context? Martinevans123 (talk) 21:26, 26 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed the image since SlutWalk is not an exact illustration of the term "slut", and to avoid any unwanted associations with any living person(s). —Sangdeboeuf (talk) 13:37, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Add context to image[edit]

Will you please add more context to the first image? Thank you. Vjyoti (talk) 16:43, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The caption has a link to SlutWalk, which is explained as an effort to "reclaim" the term in the text adjacent to the image. That seems like pretty good context. What additional information would you like to add? --Sangdeboeuf (talk) 22:22, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Removed image; see above. —Sangdeboeuf (talk) 13:38, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Slut noun 1.DEROGATORY a prostitute with standards and decorum.  Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. 💜  melecie  talk - 08:10, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"The modern sense of 'sexually promiscuous woman' dates to at least 1450.[10]" This is in error. The source, etymonline, indicates the sexually promiscuous woman denotation is not attested until 1966. --Gwynwas (talk) 14:31, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Article title italicized[edit]

Can anyone tell me why the article title is italicized? Is it because the term is pejorative? I couldn't find it mentioned on a brief look-through the MOS. Thanks! 00:48, 1 April 2024 (UTC) SigPig2 (talk) 00:48, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
