You can learn more about Snoop Dogg’s life, his career and his music from the numerous websites that are dedicated to him on the Internet. His official website (www.snoopdogg.com) doesn’t really provide much information, but pay a visit to online encyclopaedia Wikipedia (www.wikipedia.com) for something more substantial.
For example, did you know that many of the rapper’s songs mention the letters “LBC”? This, according to the site, is a reference to Long Beach, California, as well as the Long Beach Crips, a group he formed in his hometown. The site also teaches you how to speak in Snoop Dogg slang, which he borrowed from another prolific rapper named E-40. This can be achieved by simply adding an “izz” or “izzle” to the end of a word or letter. Some of the phrases regularly used by Snoop Dog include “fo’ shizzle”, which means for sure or the real thing, and D-O-double-Gizzle in the hizzle, which means “DOGG in the house”. You gizzle-e-tizzle (you g-e-t)?

Stopped smoking weed

It says in one section that snoop "stopped smoking weed" at the age of 30. then a few sentences later (in the next section) it says he was arrested for marijuana possession in 2007. i'd like to see the line about him quitting "Weed" at age 30 removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.125.138.8 (talk) 20:54, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Date of birth

He was born in 1975! Not 71. Check anywhere on the internet.

More sites says he was born 71

Does anyone know Snoop and can ask him.

SOMEBODY SHOULD ADD THE FACT THAT HE HAS BEEN BANNED FROM ENTERING THE UK AND AUSTRALIA - HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE HOSTING THE MTV AWARDS IN 2007 BUT HE ISN'T ALLOWED IN THE COUNTRY -- DIRECT QUOTE FROM AUTRALIA "WE DON'T WANT PEOPLE LIKE HIM IN OUR COUNTRY.

EXCERPT FROM BBC NEWS

Snoop Dogg banned from Australia

Rapper Snoop Dogg has been banned from entering Australia after failing a character test, according to officials. The star - real name Calvin Broadus - was due to co-host the MTV Australian Video Music Awards on Sunday.

The 35-year-old had his visa cancelled after recently pleading no contest to gun and drug charges in the US.

"He doesn't seem the sort of bloke we want in this country," Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews told Sydney's Macquarie Radio. Snoop Dogg was also recently denied a UK visa

This is already put into the main article with reference link to the newspaper article...why write it here? Talk pages are about the improvement/edits..etc of the wikipedia article not news and chit chat? --Mikecraig 22:25, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Poor Phrasing?

"Perplexed in the naming of the album, Doggystyle, fans asked in the explicit naming. Snoop replied "For real? I always loved getting "giggy" with it me and my hoes, but i never thought i could have a whole named in my way of the dog." "- This appears in the second section. Are there typos in this, or does it just really not make sense?

This appears in the first section "Man what the fk he looks like my dog nded Long Beach Polytechnic High School[2]"- who typed this?

Also in the first section, last line second paragraph implies that eminem is snoops cousin!! is that true?

Snoop just says that to show he not direspecting that person he is saying it to no it is not true eminem is his cousin.

Batman

Why was the Batman thing cut? You IDIOT! Looks like this the Gamecube page all over again, uptight elitists trying to control what facts are presented. Fine, go believe whatever you wanna believe Clown Will Rape Me.

Nice to see you ignore the song exists, you elitist loser. Eat me.

The lone existence of the song is an inadequate evidence for Snoop being a Batman comics fan. Maybe it's only a joke with the old TV series' name and sample. Like Eminem's video for Without Me or 50 Cent's Gatman and Robin.Lajbi 00:22, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

How do I make the caption not push everything over? Tuf-Kat

Thanks to whoever fixed this. Tuf-Kat

Can someone clarify the bit about Snoop's actual violent history being used as proof that gangsta rap lyrics aren't an artistic reflection of the songwriters' surroundings? It seems like a strawman, because the exact opposite is true. If he had grown up in a middle-class suburban home with no problems with violence, ever, then that would be proof that his lyrics aren't an artistic reflection of his surroundings.

As per above, I removed the claim, the second half of the below sentence:

Gangsta rap became the center of arguments for censorship and labeling, with Dogg's history cited as evidence that the violence in rap music was not simply an "artistic" reflection of a songwriters surroundings.

Because it really doesn't make sense. Tuf-Kat

I've got to say that none of it makes sense. So called "gangsta rap" was under attack before Snoop ever released an album or was featured as an artist. The timeline is a few years off as NWA (and Gangsta rap) was under attack from day one. JoeHenzi 6 July 2005 01:43 (UTC)

Why isn't any mention of Snoop Dogg's porn activities here (aside from him being categorized as pornographer). This guy is one hell of a successfull porn producer... 84.176.227.18 13:25, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

HE IS NOT A PORN PRODUCER

Think of Too Short his music is way dirty than snoop and u guys are callin him a porn Producer PLEASE Damn

I don't think he was the actual producer. I was under the belief he just hosted it. And it depends how many he has done. If he has only made one video it wouldn't seem right to call him a pornographer.Drumac 05:29, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Snoop Dogg hosted "Snoopy Doggs Doggystyle" (There were 2 volumes at least), but he did not produce them and did not participate in the actual porn scenes (these were produced separately. The videos are distributed by Hustler Video as far as I know. So I would say Dogg is not a professional pornographer, like it is not his main job - but the hosting should be mentioned in the article... I will do some research and if I come up whith enough exact data I will also fill it in --Albert Cuandero 20:46, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

Bluegrass

Since When is Snoop Dog a "bluegrass musician and minister of the gospel" Probably Someones Idea of a joke. Or perhaps not. Bluegrass is a combination of both Scots-Irish music, Scots-Irish being the term for which is the Americanism for the turned full-blooded American Scots from N. Ireland --In the UK N. Irish or 'Ulster-Scots'-- as well as African-American jazz-like influence in this Bluegrass genre indicative of the later Appalachian US whites, and the regions high Scots-Irish population let alone origin. If either side would take a step back and look aside one another perhaps it would be made obvious how much the Southerners --who are commonly associated with racism and slavery, ironically-- and, vice versa, would see how much both sides attributed to culturally enriching one another, African-Americans as well as Southern US whites alike.

Gang affiliation

Snoop has never made his affiliation with the Crips a secret. It probably deserves mention. 09:14, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Agreed.

Snoop is actually a Long Beach Insane Crip A.K.A. 21 (Two-One) Insane Gangster Crip from 21st Street Long Beach (East Side of LA)not a Rollin' 20 Gangster Crip. Rollin' 20's were actually his rivals up until recently. Listen to "Deuces and Trays" album and you will understand this. Deuces and Trays are subsets within Crips which encompass rival factions similar to the East Side and West Side oppositions, the Rollin' 0's, Neighborhood Crips, etc. 21 Insane Crips bang with Trays such as the 83 (Eight Tray) Gangster Crips (see Monster by Cody Scott A.K.A. Sanyika Shakur). The Rollin' 20's besides being a Rollin' 0 clique, they ride with other gangs with a Deuce designation. Insane Crips rep using Oakland Raiders gear because their colors are Gray and Black. While Rollin' 20's use Pittsburgh Pirates because they rep with Yellow/Gold and Black, ex. Goldie Loc is a Rollin 20.

His "chronic speak" - e.g. "It's big Snoop Dizzle in the hizzle" is a reflection of the insane crip lingo (replacing words with "I"s). Comments?...Contact me at streetgangz@hotmail.com

Meaning of LBC

The article now says:

A large number of Snoop Dogg's songs mention "the LBC." This is reportedly a reference to the Long Beach Crips.

However, the Rap Dictionary says that LBC is a "phonebook abbreviation for Long Beach city". Which does Snoop mean? Tim Ivorson 23:31, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)

I was under the impression it was Long Beach City. It may very well refer to both, though, depending on the circumstance. Tuf-Kat 02:57, Nov 29, 2004 (UTC)
In "Gin and Juice", the first line is "in the LBC", so Long Beach Crips wouldn't make any sense there, and it must be the city. Tuf-Kat
It probably stands for Long Beach, CA. TamYum 05:34, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
It's probably "Long Beach City". Warren G refers to this a lot all throughout his records.
For example on the song "can you feel it". I don't remember one line where it could refer to the Crips Gang. WaterHead 01:53, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

Not Long Beach City, Long Beach, CA. Small difference, but hey, for people from Long Beach, NY it actually means something.NYMoogle 06:33, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

regarding sites listed on this page

I assume you meant "non-NPOV". As for setting up links, regardless of whether or not it comes from the owner, the links are set up due to someone's suggestion. Some may argue that that particular "someone" is then "biased" towards that particular page before they link it. I think the bottom line is not who sets up the link - even it is from the owner (which I think most of them are?) - but rather, what POV is in the actual link text or site.
Yes, POV instead of NPOV. Or non-NPOV if we can handle all the double-negatives. Anyway, I disagree. Already, users are not meant to edit their own wikipedia pages (so, for example, Wil Wheaton should not edit his page, though it's fine for you to edit your own). I see linking to your own site as a similar sort of thing. This may not be official policy, however. --Yamla 22:26, August 27, 2005 (UTC)

<< Additionally, the site is clearly commercial, making money from ads.>> Every single link listed on the Snoop page (except one which provides far less valuable info than download-latest-online-music's) and every Bow Wow link, some far more commercial than download-latest-online-music, is making money from ads or something else. This practice is not incompliant with NPOV.

This is correct. My only refutation, and it is not strong, is that the site seems to exist primarily to gain ad revenue rather than to provide information. This point is clearly POV, though, and I understand that you have a different opinion that is as likely as mine to be valid. --Yamla 19:23, August 27, 2005 (UTC)
I realize that, again, most sites are making money one way or another. But I've tried to be careful about putting content before monetization, but monetization is inevitable for almost every wiki link you see across the board.
That's a good point. I'd rather you moved the ads to the side of the page but essentially, I am agreeing with you here. That said, there are a lot of junk links from Wikipedia... just because other articles do it does not mean it is a good idea. --Yamla 22:26, August 27, 2005 (UTC)

<< Finally, it provides very little additional information of any value.>> The info it provides is focused towards music downloads with a brief bio. With that, the Bow Wow bio on download-latest-online-music appears more in depth in many matters than the one provided in Wiki.

The bio, while different to that given on the wikipedia article, doesn't seem to add very much. I'm not saying that it is bad, just that anything useful should really be added to the Wiki article.
Although I agree the bio while different is not a complete 180 from wiki's, some other bios I have seen from other sites not only do not add much, but look alike.
This, really, is probably one of the two most important points. Do other people feel the bio on this site adds enough new content that could not be incorporated into the wikipedia article to justify linking to it? The other major point, of course, is that you are showing people which music is available on which download site. These two points are the reason I'm discussing the issue here rather than just removing the links.

And once again, there is no link spam. Ads are not sponsored by download-latest-online-music but solely by Google (ever heard of them?). As for "dubious quality" I doubt that be an issue with Bow Wow, but, notwithstanding usefullness already in Snoop Dogg's page, some ammendments are forthcoming. And as for the other download-latest-online-music links, those have been ammended or not put back on to comply with NPOV and were initially erased for reasons other than this reason.

You misunderstand what link spam means. It is completely irrelevant who sponsors the links (and Google does not sponsor google links), assuming that it isn't the record company of course. The problem is that you are linking to your own site and with significant commercial benefit to that site through additional page views and higher Google page rankings. --Yamla 19:23, August 27, 2005 (UTC)
With all due respect I'm not sure if it is my misunderstanding more than it is yours. If you take a close look at GG links at each site (not the ext links from wiki) it clearly says "Ads by Google". And once again, the ext wiki self-link situation is quite pandemic across wiki and that along with the commercial benefit from ads from all these sites, their GG ranking, etc., is inevitable. My best advice for you would be to not worry about it and let things be.
"Ads by Google", but sponsored by whoever is paying Google for the advertising. But now, I think, we are arguing semantics so I'll drop this line of argument. --Yamla 22:26, August 27, 2005 (UTC)

As for the 'Lil Bow Wow ammendent - my fault again. That's what I was trying to say. Thanks for changing it. :) Drdr1989

No problem. And I hope you understand that I'm not saying your site is invalid. I'd like to hear some other people's opinions. If I was sure your site was not valid, I'd be removing the links once again. --Yamla 19:23, August 27, 2005 (UTC)
I think opinions should be given to all ext links, not just mine. That said, thanks for understanding my opinion, and for not removing the links this time - even though I would have put them back on anyway. :) Drdr1989
Well, you only get three reverts per day. Anyway, nobody else has piped up yet. If nobody else offers an opinion by the middle of next week, I'll withdraw my objections. However, I will continue debating for a while yet. --Yamla 22:26, August 27, 2005 (UTC)

Correct birth year and name

To avoid breaking the three revert rule sometime in the near future, I'd be happy to give proof to our contributor Drdr1989 that Snoop Dogg was born in 1971 (not 1972), before he gets unconvinced with these sources, if that means stopping this vandalism: [1], [2], www.mooviees.com/9053-Snoop-Dogg/celebrity_8009, [3], [4], [5], [6], [7]. And for you (Drdr1989): I hope after this is all over and you realise that you were wrong that there will be no hard feelings. -- Mike Garcia | talk 01:01, 20 September 2005 (UTC)

According to ancestry.com, there was one Calvin Broadus born in 1972, and none in 1971. Plus, I think the tagline to Murder Was the Case is good evidence (see IMDB [8]). The internet seems divided though, about half the sites for each date. MickWest 01:34, 20 September 2005 (UTC)
I would also like to add that one my former colleagues from Long Beach who was also born in 1972 went to high school with Calvin and I remember him saying they were born in the same year. With all this evidence we have two choices: err on the side of Mike's ego, or on the side of 1972. Drdr1989 02:33, 20 September 2005 (UTC) The preceding should have been read with a bright smile.
His birthday is in October, which may have been past the cutoff date to start school. They may have been the same year in school, but born in separate years. There is far more evidence for 1971. --Fallout boy 20:10, 5 October 2005 (UTC)
The "evidence" for 1971 is weak, whereas the evidence for 1972 is firm. Regardless of my friend in school how can you rebut the Murder Was the Case tagline and ancestry.com??? Come on now! Drdr1989 04:02, 6 October 2005 (UTC)
I checked ancestry.com and there is a Calvin Broadus for both years. And I doubt either of them is him, as most remotely famous people have themselves removed from public record search engines (like zabasearch). --Fallout boy 07:43, 6 October 2005 (UTC)
Due to the age fabrication issue, either YOB (and others - I've seen that these aren't the only two; just the most popular) could be questionable. But you need to subscribe to ancestry.com to get the correct year. Now that name may have been another "Calvin Broadus" but it still could be him as he was once being investigated for a serious crime. I did leave 1971 on, but added 1972 as an alternative possibility as there is still no confirmable evidence for 1971. Drdr1989 16:45, 6 October 2005 (UTC)
According to California birth records, he was born as Cordozar C Broadus on 20 Oct 1971. This is also the name and birthdate that other public records have him listed as. Questors 22:42, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the info, but which California and birth records did you consult? That would help resolve this little issue. For now, in good faith I kept on 1971, but I'm tempted to put both years in two weeks if I can't find any confirmable evidence myself. Help us out! Drdr1989 07:38, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
California and Social Security death records list his father as Cordozar Broadus. The father was born in 1948 and died in 1984. Questors 19:51, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
I think Drdr1989 wants to know which Web site you got those records from (since there are a lot of Web sites purporting to offer birth records), or whether you actually went down to L.A. County headquarters to inspect the county birth certificate records in person. Otherwise, how the hell do we know you're not just making this up? After all, most news articles I've seen give Snoop Dogg's real name as Calvin. --Coolcaesar 20:03, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
The Social Security Death Index is available free at several sites on the Web including FamilySearch. Check out LondonTimes or the name of the copyright holder at Warner. The California records are from the indexes available for a fee from ancestry.com. You can plug in the name at the main search page and see that there are results in the CA records. You must subscribe, as I do, to see the details. I use info from ancestry and other sites to correct the rampant errors on Wikipedia. I have not the slightest interest in rap. Questors 23:43, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
I think this time Questors is right. The West Coast edition of XXL (magazine) published in April, 2005 states in the intro of a Snoop Dogg interview that his name is Cordazar Broadus, was born in 1971, and that he began to use his second name Calvin later. It also cites Snoop's 1999 autobiography book, Tha Doggfather as one of the information sources.[9]Lajbi 00:31, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

All seems to be correct. Although it is still strange. Just checked the "Murder was the case" video , where Snoop gets buried alive, and the gravestone says "1972-1994". Maybe it was just a mistake of the Property man or the Stage setter? Lajbi 00:06, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
I've heard some people consider it bad luck to put a person's real name/DoB/etc. on a tombstone while they are still living (people think Elvis is alive because his middle name was misspelled on his). Maybe Snoop Dogg is superstitious?--Fallout boy 03:47, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

His gang affiliation

The author of this article incorrectly writes: "A large number of Snoop Dogg's songs mention 'the LBC.' This is a reference to the city of Long Beach, California, or to the Long Beach Crips"

This is not true. There seems to be a common misconception that the Crips set Snoop claims is the "LBC Crips". What a lot of people don't realize is that Snoop is actually not a member of this set. There is a gang called the LBC Crips in Los Angeles County, but they're not even from Long Beach. They're actually from Compton - "LBC" stands for "Latana Blocc Compton". But there is no gang called the "LBC Crips" in Long Beach, nor is Snoop from this set.

The gang Snoop banged with is actually the Rollin' 20 Crips. Warren G, Goldie Loc (of Tha Eastsidaz), and Lil 1/2 Dead are also from this set, and I've heard rumors that Nate Dogg is, too (though I can't confirm them).

What's his age?

IMDB.com says he was born on October 20, 1971. Here it says he was born in 1972. In the trivia section it states that he's 36, which is a pretty funny joke considering it isn't interesting trivia, and apparently is untrue. I don't know when he was born but I imagine that IMDB has it correct.

MTV, All Music Guide and other musical sources, not to mention the tagline for Murder in The First have it at 1972. Even though IMDB.com has plenty of information for the curious surfer, it is not always right - this is not the only entry I have seen in IMDB with incorrect info. Further confusing is lots of mirror sites copy IMDB.com, unfortunately, so there's alot of false birthdates on different pages floating around. Drdr1989 02:09, 4 December 2005 (UTC)

He's been banned from BA, and I think this might just be taken out of context for the sake of noteriety. Anyone got a concrete source? Thedarxide 14:34, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Music samples

The music sample for Nuthin' But A 'G' Thang explains: (...) This sample shows Snoop Dogg's slow-jam rapping style and unique word usage, as well as his writing-composing talent.
Problem is: in this sample, you hear Snoop for only 3 seconds, the rest is Dr. Dre rapping :-) Someone should correct this. thanx!
Wikizen 21:54, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

If I remember correctly, Snoop Dogg wrote the lyrics for Nuthin But A G Thang. Dre's just a producer who raps. Writing isn't his specialty.

Drug trafficker?

Seems silly to put him in that category. It's well-documented that he did sell drugs but I think that the category is meant for the Escobars and Gottis of the world.

[Rappers] are not talking about no collegiate basketball girls who have made it to the next level in education and sports. We’re talking about ho’s that’s in the ‘hood that ain’t doing shit, that’s trying to get a nigga for his money. These are two separate things. First of all, we ain’t no old-ass white men that sit up on MSNBC [which announced Wednesday it would drop its simulcast of Imus’ radio show] going hard on black girls. Yes, there's a tendency for creating separate pages for awards. The list is long enough to fill a page by cut-and-pasting it into it for sure. To be honest Snoop doesn't hold any records, which haven't obsoleted yet. Doggystyle and Murder Was The Case had some Billboard/SoundScan achievements as far as I know. But that's all for him. Snoop Dogg applying for Australian Citizenship

First off... booyah. Now, seriously, the MySpace page www.myspace.com/voteforsnoop states that Snoop Dogg is applying for Australian citizenship, and has, so far, four videos to back this claim up. BlackbeltMage 02:52, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

I propose changing "During the detention, he was taken to the police station to perform a drug test, and was released afterwards, finding no traces of narcotics in his system." to "During the detention, he was taken to the police station to perform a drug test and was released afterwards. The rapid test was positive for traces of narcotics, and he may be subject to fines depending on the results of more detailed analysis, which should be completed within several weeks."

The original line is factually incorrect. He was released, but not because there were no traces of narcotics in his system. Snoop Dogg's rapid test actually tested positive for traces of narcotics. The sample has been submitted for additional analysis, but the final results of the more detailed analysis will not be ready for several weeks. He may be subject for fines depending on the results of these additional tests.

Snoop Dogg has appeared in numerous films and television episodes throughout his career. His starring roles in film includes The Wash (with Dr. Dre) and the horror film Bones. He also co-starred with rapper Wiz Khalifa in the 2012 movie Mac and Devin Go to High School which a sequel has been announced.[41] He has had various supporting and cameo roles in film, including Half Baked, Training Day, Starsky & Hutch, and Brüno. He also appears in pitch perfect 2 (released 2015) Snoop Dogg at WrestleMania XXIV at Orlando's Citrus Bowl with Ashley Massaro and tag team partner Maria, March 30, 2008

He has starred in three television programs: sketch-comedy show Doggy Fizzle Televizzle, variety show Dogg After Dark, and reality show Snoop Dogg's Father Hood (also starring Snoop's wife and children). He has starred in episodes of King of the Hill, Las Vegas, and Monk, one episode of Robot Chicken,[42] as well as three episodes of One Life to Live.[43] He has participated in two Comedy Central Roasts, for Flavor Flav and Donald Trump. Cameo television appearances include episodes of The L Word, Weeds, Entourage, I Get That a Lot, and The Price Is Right. He has also appeared in an episode of the YouTube video series, Epic Rap Battles of History as Moses.[44]

In 2000, Snoop (as "Michael J. Corleone") directed Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle, a pornographic film produced by Hustler. The film, combining hip hop with x-rated material, was a huge success and won "Top Selling Release of the Year" at the 2002 AVN Awards.[45] Snoop then directed Snoop Dogg's Hustlaz: Diary of a Pimp in 2002 (using the nickname "Snoop Scorsese").[46]

Snoop founded his own production company, Snoopadelic Films, in 2005. Their debut film was Boss'n Up, a film inspired by Snoop Dogg's album R&G, starring Lil Jon and Trina.[47]

On March 30, 2008 he appeared at WrestleMania XXIV as a Master of Ceremonies for a tag team match between Maria and Ashley Massaro as they took on Beth Phoenix and Melina.[48]

On several occasions, Snoop has appeared at The Players Ball in support of Bishop Don Magic Juan.[49][50] Juan appeared on Snoop's videos for "Boss Playa", "A.D.I.D.A.C.", "P.I.M.P. (Remix)", "Nuthin' Without Me" and "A Pimp’s Christmas Song." Phillip banks (talk) 02:37, 17 August 2015 (UTC)

Requested edits

I request that you have this in the "2014-now Bush" section, Snoop is making a new studio album coming July to be named "Tha Return of Doggystyle" and he has released a new single April 20, 2016 named "Late Nights" produced by Mike WiLL Made-It.

Firstly, it's obvious from a quick glance at all four of those first references that his first name is Calvin and it should be changed accordingly. Please changed "Cordozar Broadus" to "Calvin Broadus." Secondly, the sentence "Snoop Dogg has influenced the style of the Maltese rapper Hooligan" should be removed because although it is referenced, he has influenced a lot of people and there is no reason why he (Hooligan) specifically should be mentioned, especially when the article is about Snoop Dogg himself. It seems to have been added more for promotional purposes. —J

Birth date

As is not uncommon with biographies of entertainers, different reliable sources give different birth dates for Snoop Dogg. (See also Mariah Carey and Mick Mars.) Both Billboard and AllMusic.com give 1972. Jet and Biography.com give 1971. Under WP:BLP, we cannot arbitrarily say one set of reliable sources is correct and another set of reliable sources is wrong — that's POV. All we can do, as in those other examples, is list both until some definitive documentation comes out. --Tenebrae (talk) 19:08, 31 May 2016 (UTC)

Occupation listings in the lead

As seen with this edit, which shows that I previously reverted the content, Squidward With Hair has added a number of unnecessary occupations to the lead. Squidward With Hair did this at other articles as well. I explained the issue with doing so, on Squidward With Hair's talk page, pointing to a Michael Jackson talk page discussion about going overboard with descriptors in the lead. I stated that, for the lead, we should be sticking primarily to what the subject is well known for.

Thoughts? It may be that we need a project-wide discussion about these extra descriptors since it keeps happening across Wikipedia. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 18:20, 15 August 2017 (UTC)

Snoop filed for divorce on 2004 from Shante, but he canceled the proceedings. So he & Shante never were divorced, they were married once and they’re still married. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:6000:170E:486F:41B1:CFA2:CA23:39 (talk) 20:23, 23 August 2020 (UTC)

Murder

trial@FlightTime: If they were both acquitted, how can you say they did it? Esszet (talk) 11:26, 27 August 2020 (UTC)

Net Worth Source

The source that is used to say that his net worth is $124 million is actually an entry from a Forbes list about how much he made from 2007-2017. The statement that his net worth is $124 million is not an accurate use of the source. I cannot find a good source for his net worth, so I propose that this section is removed from the info box. "High school sweetheart" is not encyclopedic language.

"High school sweetheart" is causal slang. Could somebody change the first sentence of his personal life section to say a more typical term like "girlfriend" instead? Nikki Lee 1999 (talk) 03:23, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

Why is "girlfriend" more encyclopaedic than "sweetheart"? 69.113.166.178 (talk) 14:01, 20 December 2020 (UTC)

If this appearance in a Youtube video is authentic (there were no sources I could find mentioning this), then it is not noteworthy enough to include in an article on him. – Thjarkur (talk) 18:40, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

Anti-vaccination allegations?

Snoop Dogg has been included in several "list of anti-vaccination" celebrities and has publicly admitted to being against the flu shot https://www.instagram.com/p/BosYrdegfuy. Should this be added to the article? Thestickman391 (talk) 11:27, 22 January 2021 (UTC)

Bill Cosby

Multiple news outlets have reported on Snopp Dogg calling for the release of Bill Cosby. I think this should potentially be added to the article, however I'm not much of a writer myself.
