I had begining to made Manhattan into a disambiguating pages, but then I doubted...what do the rest think?

Depends on what you suppose will be most convenient for the reader. If the Manhattan island article gets too long, it might become hard to find the drink. I don't drink alcoholic beverages, so that's no hardship for me, but . . .

I guess the rule would be: disambiguate when it starts getting ambiguous.

This really seems like a bad disambiguation, since all Manhattans follow from the main Manhattan. But I don't have a much better solution. --The Cunctator

All Manhattans follow from the main Manhattan? Is it certain that Manhattan, Kansas was named for the place in New York? -- BRG
According to http://www.cis.ksu.edu/Misc/about.manhattan.html , "The city was founded in 1855 by a group of riverboat traders who hoped to establish a trading center that would rival the Manhattan of the East. The city takes its nickname, ``The Little Apple, from its New York namesake." --Brion

Hello! I added the reference to the Native American origin of the place name "Manhattan". I think it is perfectly relevant to the disambiguation page, since the historical origin of this name is questioned ... right here. I thought it was kind of weird to have an entire page on the uses of the name "Manhattan" without every mentioning its origin and first usage. If a reader like BRG is asking whether Manhattan of NY was the first instance, he's not the only one. So it seems logically obvious to begin the page by briefly explaining the origin of the name and its first usage. Argantael (talk) 15:07, 1 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation pages are for navigating among ambiguous topics within existing Wikipedia articles, not for providing etymology or other dictionary content. The etymology of the word is properly discussed at Manhattan#Etymology. olderwiser 15:12, 1 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
