Megacity[edit]

As far as I can tell, Megacity is synonymous with Megalopolis. Since the term is used much more with large city areas, not the Greek city, I suggest moving the megacity & megalopolis info here & add a disambig. link to the Greek article at the top of this page. You could get the term Metroplex involved in the synonymous terms debate here too. --Dave 03:54, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and does anyone in the world really believe Dallas to Houston is going to be over 1 billion people in a hundred years? I really doubt that would happen. Really, shouldn't we be a bit smarter before putting something like that out there. --Dave 03:58, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't the term megalopolis often used to describe the area in the United States from Boston down to Washington D.C. The Megacity link really works to describe the overall metropolitan area of a city. Defining that is another task altogether, however.

In Canada, "megacity" means something entirely different from megapolis... see new section Ccccccccccc 04:05, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
