Discussion[edit]

Notice removed, discussion left for someone else to delete

As stated over on the requested moves page, I think this should be moved to a page of its own and Presidential Commission made a disambiguation page in order to allow for an article on U.S. Presidential Commissions, or maybe a category, akin to Category:U.S. Senate committees, to list such things as President's Commission on the HIV Epidemic and U.S. President's Commission on CIA activities within the United States. - Orborde 06:06, 4 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • Agree - provided the page is used for disambig only. If it became a US-centric page, we'd basically have the same problem as we have now :-) Look to the worldwide picture and all that - Pete C 12:57, 4 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - as above. -- KTC 13:51, 4 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • Since I proposed it, it's pretty clear that I Agree, but I wasn't sure how to go about the move.
    • Since the proposed move to location is empty at the moment, I think any registed user can move it, but I'll just wait for a couple more days before trying to move it myself, unless someone else want to do it before. -- KTC 19:28, 4 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
      • Were I to do it, I would use "move", not "rename", right? - Orborde 04:55, 6 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - in line with Pete C's comments Djegan 17:49, 4 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - but only if the page is used for disambigulation, not to make space for an American article here, which is all too common given wikipedia's US-centric attitudes on occasion. FearÉIREANN(talk) 05:05, 6 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • Seeing lots of agreement, I'm going to be bold and all that and try to move it myself. Pray that I get it right. - Orborde 05:13, 6 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • Moved - Orborde 05:20, 6 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Party[edit]

I have removed the "Party" Column. The Ceann Comhairle and Cathaoirleach are formally non-party. It is true that they are usually initially elected as a party member; by the same token, many of the justices were previously party politicians, and even those who never contested election are often associated with one party or another. It's hardly relevant in any case. jnestorius(talk) 17:37, 28 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Missing Info[edit]

The page List of elected and appointed female heads of state and government lists Susan Denham as a member of the acting Presidential Commission for a single day in 2011, yet there is no information on this page about any incident in 2011 where the commission was used (I assume it was the resignation of Mary McAleese and the inaguartion of Michael D Higgens). I haved removed Denham from that article. The Presidential Commission is a collective "vice-presidency", no members are head of state, acting or otherwise. Spleodrach (talk) 00:48, 23 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
