Did Petrus Ratajczyk play the piano?[edit]

Most of Type O Negative songs have alot of keyboards/piano in them. Did Petrus Ratajczyk learn toplay the piano when he was young? 50.45.41.86 (talk) 19:29, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Peter's birth name was not "Petrus"[edit]

To continue correcting misinformation about Peter, we have to stop reverting corrections regarding his birth name. He was NOT born "Petrus" Thomas Ratajczyk, but in fact just "Peter Thomas Ratajczyk." This confusion has likely been fueled because of Peter's past in humoring interviewers and playing around with his ethnicity (pretending to be Icelandic or Russian, for example). His family's Facebook page have corrected this misinformation here as well and his estate's website here Inbaeda (talk) 04:31, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@FMSky Petersteelerocks.com is not an unreliable source as it is a website ran by Peter Steele's estate and family (you can see their statement at the bottom of their website and subsequent links). He was not born as "Petrus." Inbaeda (talk) 16:56, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It literally says "From Wikipedia" at the bottom: https://www.petersteelerocks.com/bio --FMSky (talk) 17:20, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I added a reliable source -FMSky (talk) 17:36, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Even if it does that's irrelevant. It's still a website ran by his family and his Estate. Closest thing you can get to the horse's mouth honestly. The correct spelling of his name was there, and not on here, and that's all that really matters in regards to the edit. I suppose we'll take your source instead of having it blank though. I sent them a letter in hopes they'll make their own direct statements regarding common Peter misconceptions on their website sometime. Inbaeda (talk) 21:19, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Peter's ancestry.[edit]

The article says Peter had Russian ancestry, with a link too some sketchy interview.

His ancestry is well researched, ant his paternal line is pure Polish. His father was Peter (Piotr) Ratajczyk, his paternal grandfather was Joseph (Józef) Ratajczyk and his paternal grandmother was Frances (Franciszka) Kacierowska Ratajczyk.

There are both site and facebook page ran by his family.

They both state that "His father was of Polish descent, and his mother was of Scottish-Irish and Italian ancestry." and "He wasn’t Icelandic but had the greatest affection for the region, culture & history. He’s actually Polish, Italian, and a little bit Irish, English."

All of the mentions about Icelandic and Russian ancestry is either jokes by Peter, or misleading information that should be removed. Napalminmyveins (talk) 23:17, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
