Untitled[edit]

I wonder how the system used here at Wikipedia fits in with all this...

Not suitable for children?[edit]

Wikipedia is allowed to make such opinionated comments?

Status?[edit]

Is anyone actively working on the overall content of this article? I think there are some improvements that we can make, and I am happy to try to help if no one else has time to do. Uberveritas 07:24, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

- I wanted to inquire again to see if anyone is working on this article. I see some work that needs to be done. Also, while Slashdot is referenced many times across the internet, I think we need to see some additional examples. Slashdot is one example of many types of moderation system. I think a new structure should be created for this article. (Uberveritas 06:05, 15 May 2007 (UTC))[reply]

If you are still around, Uberveritas, why not go ahead and edit the article directly? After all this time you should feel justified to do so. Or, if you still have doubts, propose the changes in this page first. --213.227.18.42 (talk) 22:31, 27 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Facilitation.com ?[edit]

I removed the link to facilitaiton.com. It just looks like plainful spam to me. Feel free to reverse if I missed something. --Iv 14:12, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is the Electric Frontier Foundation relevant here?[edit]

Can somebody explain why the we link to the EFF advocacy site? While I don't doubt that it's germane to blogging in general, I don't see how it directly relates to moderation systems. Kansan (talk) 17:21, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Moderation not on internet[edit]

Only internet moderation is mentioned here and it only refers to deleting messages and banning users. I think moderation is much more than just that and is quite a complex subject. The concept of off-topic is not even mentioned but other are "irrelevant, obscene, illegal, or insulting with regards to useful or informative contributions." Well, the most importante function of a Moderator is to make sure that posts are on topic, for a start. Other factors are secondary. Also, what about moderating a debate on a radio program, for instance? Yes, more work needs be done here. --213.227.18.42 (talk) 22:31, 27 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As for moderating off-topic comments, that would fall under the word "irrelevant", which is in there, as you mentioned. Also, moderating debates is an entirely different thing, and the only thing it has in common with moderating systems is the word "moderating". This article is specifically about moderating comments.
