Is this the correct pronunciation? The SAMPA [lEz@z]) would equate to IPA ['lɛzəz] or something like"lezzers". The BBC pronouncing Dictionary of English Names doesn't have an entry for The Leasowes, but for Leasowe (possibly unconnected) it gives IPA ['lisoʊ], or something like "leessoe". rossb 16:44, 20 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Edit was mine. Confusingly that is how it is pronounced by those currently living in the vicinity and speaking the Black Country dialect. I suppose that for years nobody else cared. I don't mind it being replaced by a more official pronunciation but I'm really not sure that there is one. It is a word with a slightly non-obvious pronunciation. Cutler 20:02, Apr 10, 2005 (UTC)

Original house was demolished[edit]

"The poet's house was demolished and replaced in 1776 by one built by a Mr. Home and this is now, much altered, the headquarters of the Halesowen Golf Club. It is indeed very largely due to the club and the town council that The Leasowes, as a golf course, a public park and municipal nursery garden still fulfills in some measure the intentions of its genial creator and helps to keep his memory alive."
