"voted possibly one of the worst movies of 2004"

Without reference, this doesn't add anything meaningful to the article except to express the contributor's opinion. I suspect that was the contributor's sole intention, so I'm removing it. If you want to put it back, cite a source of this supposed vote. 68.9.205.10 00:03, 9 Jan 2005 (UTC)

2004 was the remake, this page is about the original. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.61.215.84 (talk) 08:38, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Undid redirects for sequels[edit]

For some reason an editor a year ago decided unilaterally to delete the articles on the two sequels to this film and redirect here. I've undone this and reinstated them to the template box too. Anyone got a problem with this is welcome to nominate the sequel articles for deletion at AFD. 23skidoo (talk) 18:59, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Good movie, but is it TRUE??[edit]

As a former resident of McNairy County, I can tell you that opinions about Buford Pusser vary. My grandmother was living there when he was sheriff, and she thought he was a nut. Alas, I've known many other good people who share her opinion. I do know the original movie was not filmed in McNairy County, but in nearby Chester County. Also, the oak stick was pure fiction.71.48.148.40 (talk) 14:35, 27 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Like most films of this type, the film is a mixture of facts and farrago, as everybody in both counties knew at the time. Our job here is to compile published information from reliable sources, not what family and friends (I graduated from Chester County High School, and knew some folks who played very minor roles in the movie; and later ran for the Tennessee General Assembly from the district that included both counties) have told us. --Orange Mike | Talk 14:56, 27 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
