This is actually my first artice, please don't scare the newbies. I did as much research on this as I could, but this still appears to be short, so I decided to make it a stub.

I changed the "common" to "uncommon" because its quite rare to actually contract this. (never contracted it in Gold or Silver, playing Emerald now and still haven't contracted.)

Could there possibly be a way to manipulate the game using a Gameshark or similar device to force the Pokerus to infect your Pokemon at all times? This is the first time I've heard of this, and I'm quite curious. Lord Sephiroth

Yes. Look up any GameShark code site for Pokemon G/S/C/Ru/Sa/Em/FR/LG codes, and there will always be ones for infecting PokeRus. You can select one or all Pokemon in your party to be infected, or make wild Pokemon have it upon catching them. --Antoshi 03:40, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Contradictory[edit]

I agree. Cleanup tagged. In the second generation, if the Pokérus affects a Missingno, it will either affect it normally, or not affect it at all. I removed this sentence because Missingno cannot be traded into G2. The Pokémon Gold page implies it was new to Gold, so I'll edit accordingly. "Once cured, a Pokémon cannot be reinfected, except when it is traded to a first-generation game (where the information regarding whether the Pokémon has been contracted the Pokérus is lost)." Trade can't occur with 1st-gen games, just like with the Missingno thing, right? You should not fail to mention that an event sponsored by nintendo handed out infected pokémon to visitors.

A good or bad thing?[edit]

Diamond and Pearl[edit]

Discrepancy[edit]

The Japanese-language version of this article lists the chances of contracting the Pokérus as being 3/65535. Tony Myers 01:05, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
