Help[edit]

Help, it kinda looks quite stubby.....

Companies, not TMs[edit]

Some of the entries listed are indeed brand names, not company names.

Or, and scrap this crappy list at all: Ukraine is a HUGE economy with dozens of thousands of companies. Are you people going to list them all or wut? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.133.136.147 (talk) 06:34, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

List cleaned[edit]

I have cleaned this list of non-notable companies; this includes companies with no Wikipedia article and no satisfactory third party claim to notability. This is in line with the Manual of Style guidance for lists and notability guidelines. Remember that Wikipedia is not a directory - listing all companies is not necessarily useful. Before you add a new companies please ensure they meet the relevant notability guidelines, supported by reliable sources. In general it is best if the company has a Wikipedia page (on which notability is established) before it is added.

To be deleted[edit]

I'm afraid his article is either non-neutral (as it pretends to list only "notable" companies meeting unspecified criteria) or a list that is doomed to be never completed. The latter is more obvious since we have millions of companies in this country:). I suggest we reform it to less speculative lists (such as "list of largest companies by ..." or Ukrainian stock exchange lists). Anyway, I'm going to AfD this page in awhile as it is being intensively used as a SEO drive. Ukrained (talk) 22:42, 29 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Alas, as much as I would love to remove these little spam magnets, they are almost always kept at AFDs. The criteria for inclusion usually used is that which is indicated in the section directly above; an existing article on the topic. A stock exchange list is not possible to keep up with, nor does it really indicate notability of the firms on the list (see WP:LISTED). A hybrid list, such as the one at List of companies of India, which shows globally ranking firms is certainly possible if you have some suggestions. As for the tagging; I'm not sure what the "why" tags are for - are you confused about inclusion criteria or the comments after each entry? Kuru (talk) 00:20, 30 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Inclusion criteria, of course. We desperateluy need to discuss and formalize them. Otherwise, let's dedicate ourselves to neverending manual spam-filtering:( Ukrained (talk) 02:22, 30 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm afraid that even the most stringent inclusion criteria will still require manual spam filtering. It does tend to limit the amount of wikilawyering with the spammers, though. As noted above and in my previous rely, the most common method is notability by way of an established article on wikipedia. This is fairly concrete, and additions to the list can be scrutinized for "SEO articles" when they are added. Do you have an alternative? Kuru (talk) 12:18, 30 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
With no response in four months, I presume that you're comfortable with the inclusion criteria proposed. Kuru (talk) 01:25, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not seeing the reason for the "clarification needed" tags on the section titles. Can you expand on the reason for adding these or propose alternatives? Kuru (talk) 01:31, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ukrbud[edit]

Ukrbud [uk] is missing. First someone interested should create an English-language equivalent of the Ukrainian-language article. Boud (talk) 16:18, 1 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
