Since cab unit and carbody unit are so closely related, I decided not to create a separate page for carbody units. If you want to use the phrase "carbody unit" in another article, and still link to this article for an explanation, use piping. E.g., use
[[cab unit|carbody unit]] . Rmeier 03:30, 19 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Carbody unit also redirects to cab unit. EASports 21:42, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

So what's the difference?[edit]

The lead paragraph states that cab and carbody units are similar but different and then gives their common features. But nowhere does it say what a cab unit is or what a carbody unit is or what the differences between them are. Dricherby (talk) 08:34, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

And dual cab units?[edit]

While they are not common for american diesel locomotives, dual cab units (with two cabs, one at each end) are the most common style for European mainline locomotives (both diesel and electric), and in USA also the usual style for electric (passenger) locomotives. But I cannot find an article about that ... if a unit with 1 cab is called A unit and a unit with no cab is called B unit, what's a unit with 2 cabs called? --Tobias b köhler (talk) 18:08, 26 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
