I've mentioned those "island"s, along with some others, in a seperate list which I've moved from the list of the British Isles. The only one with a claim to being an island at present, which seems to me to be the key qualification for the list, is the Isle of Thanet, but it's not usually included in lists. What do you think? • Thanet is in the right place in a list of Islands in name only.
Would you or Warofdreams care to go and revert Steinsky's revert of my putting Athelney and Isle of Purbeck into Category:English islands? Ely and Thanet are in that category so Athelney and Purbeck should be too.

Gents, a suggestion. Would it be worthwhile creating a new subcategory of English islands, say, Islands in name only of England or similar? If we believe these to be islands in name only then the articles could go there; otherwise, we could discuss the current / historical status of the islands to place them accurately... Comments, please. Ian Cairns 20:40, 11 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Category:Islands in name only of England - precisely what I had in mind. -- RWH 07:28, 2005 Feb 12 (UTC)
