Is there anyone who can help clarify the differences and/or relationships between primitivism, primitive art, and naive art.

I would like to classify Edward Hicks correctly. He is known as a primitive artist and a folk artist. I don't exactly know whether he should be listed here as a primitive artst, a primitivist, a folk artist, a naive artist OR as more than one of these categories.
