Howdy Thalia, welcome to Wikipedia. Although you seem to have gotten off to a flying start, here are some useful links in case you haven't already found them -

If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! -- Finlay McWalter 01:12, 13 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Howdy. You might have noticed that I put a medical disclaimer on Toxic shock syndrome. It's a tough call as to when this is appropriate, but given that wikipedia is available in some particularly litigative jurisdictions, it's probably best to err on the side of caution. For reference, a list of all the possible disclaimers can be found at Wikipedia:MediaWiki_custom_messages. Keep up the great work. -- Finlay McWalter 22:31, 13 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Hi, Finlay.

Thanks. I'm right with you on the medical disclaimer. I thought about it briefly, but forgot in my haste to add something I thought was missing. I added info about symptoms because I thought the tampon article needed a link to symptoms, and there wasn't anything in the TSS article. Anyway, it's nice to know someone's noticing what I do and cleaning up my mistakes.  :-) Thalia/Karen 02:51, Dec 14, 2003 (UTC)

Your additions there were excellent. Frankly, I tend to keep a weather eye on new users, as we occasionally have the odd weirdo show up and pursue some odd crusade. Sooner or later you'll edit some random page and find someone else editing it straight after you - that's because lots of people frequently reload the "recent changes" page (looking both for vandals and for interesting goings-on). I'm not quite that sad a case yet :) Oh, by the way, you can create a horizontal break by putting in four -s one after the other. I'll change the rule above this comment, to demonstrate. -- Finlay McWalter 03:26, 14 Dec 2003 (UTC)

I thought you might be keeping an eye on me; your immediate friendly greeting followed by your also editing things I'd been working on seemed a bit more than coincidence. I appreciate it, though. I'm a firm believer in both mentoring and collaboration. And if I may say so, you're doing a lovely job of the former.  :-) Thalia/Karen

Well, it's easy to turn POV->NPOV by deleting stuff (mostly all those breathy adjectives and adverbs). Making a POV article bigger and NPOV is much harder. -- Finlay McWalter 22:19, 18 Dec 2003 (UTC)

S'true. I thought about doing it myself, but as I said, I had reason to hesitate on this particular article. Particularly since I haven't read the book in question. Anyway, thanks again. Thalia/Karen 23:01, Dec 18, 2003 (UTC)
