Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia! Here's some useful tips:
- The help page and FAQ will probably answer a lot of questions you have about how Wikipedia works, but if you can't find the answer there, ask a question on the village pump.
- The utilities page has all kinds of other Wikipedia-related information, including naming conventions and a manual of style. Don't let all this intimidate you, though; be bold in updating pages!
- Three tildes (~~~), as you know, signs your user name, and four adds the date.
- You have your very own user page. You can put pretty much anything you want there. When you sign your name with tildes, it links there.
