This query seems to have gotten lost when the pages were shifted around. I'm pretty sure the small soprano guitar is called a "tiple" in English, not a "triple", although my Spanish dictionary lists both "tiple" and "timple". At any rate, the link to triple has nothing to do with the guitar.

Both "tiple" and "timple" are derived from "treble", meaning high-pitched (and not the other word "treble" that means "triple").

I think "triple" should be changed to "tiple", as that is the most common form.

Argg! Since I quite likely mis-remembered the Spanish word, I changed the spelling to tiple. step


This is my day for making duplicate articles. I would prefer they be merged at Music of Puerto Rico, since that's how such things are generally titled, but whoever volunteers to do the merging can feel free move the other here. Tuf-Kat
