Talk:Tadmor, Syria

There are a few issues about naming here:

1. Should we use the name Palmyra or Tadmor for the title of this article? Palmyra is the name by which the place is best known, but Tadmor is the current name of the modern town there and seems to represent the historical local name too.
2. Should the list of places named Palmyra at Palmyra be moved to a new page, Palmyra (disambiguation), and that page name point to this article?

I believe that Palmyra should be the title for this article (name best known), and that this article should be Palmyra and not Palmyra, Syria, which suggests that the places with the same name in USA are as well known or important as this one. Gareth Hughes 23:41, 26 Feb 2005 (UTC)
