Thank you![edit]

Thanks for editing what I did on The Broker by John Grisham... I don't know how this thing works, I use Trillian and it uses it. I finished reading The Broker today so I figured that I would add something on it. I liked what you did to change mine, thanks!

Periods after titles[edit]

Thanks for the inquiry. The use of periods after Dr and Mr and so on is a case of American and British English differences (see the section on punctuation). Wikipedia does not have a style preference between the two, so you should not make a systematic attempt to change one to the other -- we aim only for consistency within single articles, and of course, appropriateness to the topic. (An article on cricket would use the British style, for example, while one on the Fourth of July the American style.) See also Wikipedia:Manual of Style#National_varieties_of_English and Wikipedia:Manual of Style (spelling).

If the article name is affected -- and note that titles such as Dr and Mr should not be included in article names -- then a redirect should be made from the alternate version of the name, so that searching and linking either version will reach the existing article.

If you are creating the article yourself, choose the British/American style that suits the topic best; if neither applies, the one that suits you best. On a related note, if you wikify all dates (such as February 19, 2005), on display the software will automatically re-arrange the pieces to suit user preferences, so that a user who has set UK preferences would see 19 February.

Thanks for joining us; I greatly admire the Distributed Proofreaders project, and I'm glad to have you here! — Catherine\talk 02:39, 20 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for April 25[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Catherine Brekus, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Conference (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

A tag has been placed on Proclamation Trust requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
