Machine translation

If you see any weird language errors in this article (for example, "De healthy potu dissertatio", with one word of a Latin title translated into English), it's because it was originally a machine translation from the Italian article it:Vino spumanti. While I take the point that the text has been translated either piecemeal or en bloc from Italian, I am not convinced that the "translation" tag is justified. Is there really anything which needs a knowledge of Italian in order to clean up the English? The meaning seems pretty straightforward to me. -- Ian Dalziel (talk) 16:17, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Merge discussion

The status quo was already a merger. Spumante, like all the other regional sparkling wines such as Cremant, Cava, Sekt, Cap Classique, Frizzante, etc are merged into the main article. This provides one coherent article for our readers rather than a litany of stubs/start class articles duplicating the same thing. I would encourage Roby to add his text to a section in the Italian wine article on Italian sparkling wines where the Italian wine industry would be kept in better context. The sparkling aspect and relevance of Spumante is already covered, and well referenced, in the Sparkling wine article. Agne^Cheese/^Wine 17:45, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
