Article name[edit]

The Syllable OS article is called "Syllable (operating system)", but this is called "Arthur (OS)". Should this be renamed to "Arthur (operating system)" to be consistant and more self-explanitory?

Okay, I've just moved it to "Arthur (operating system)". Although somewhere I saw the name written as "ARTHUR", in capitals, so should it really be at "ARTHUR"...? -- Oliver P. 15:43 Feb 17, 2003 (UTC)
No, Arthur is correct, ARTHUR is not the orthography anywhere I know of including in Acorn documentation. Rboatright 07:27 Feb 18, 2003 (UTC)

I spoke to one of the original Arthur (and later RISC OS) developers today, met him playing badminton! he confirms that Arthur was put together simply to get a product out in the field, to obtain revenue, since the proper OS project wasn't getting anywhere. Developers first name is Tim, I'll get his surname next week if he's there again.

Merger proposal (August 2007)[edit]

Does anyone else feel this article shoud be merged with RISC OS. Arthur being version 0.x and 1.x, and RISC OS being version 2.x to 6.x. The development of the OS and its module components is a continous line. --Flibble 11:36, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:AcornArthur110desktopsmall.png[edit]

Image:AcornArthur110desktopsmall.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Suggestion - Merge RISC OS and Arthur (Operating System)[edit]

Suggestion - Merge RISC OS and Arthur (Operating System)

If this suggestion proceeds, then I guess Arthur (operating system) would be nominated for deletion. --trevj (talk) 08:52, 7 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Forget that. Arthur (operating system) could subsequently be redirected to RISC OS. --trevj (talk) 14:48, 7 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
