VfD discussion[edit]

Swiftbroadband was proposed for deletion. This page is an archive of the discussion about the proposed deletion. This page is no longer live. Further comments should be made on the article's talk page rather than here so that this page is preserved as an historic record. The result of the debate was KEEP I don't think it's very encyclopaedic. It reads like the script of a promotional video. (The bottom half reads like an ad for its services.)

The company is of little note. I don't think Wikipedia needs a promotional entry for every little internet service provider in Australia... nor I think blatent plugs of their services and comparisons with other companies' services. I think if people want to learn about ISPs there are better places than Wikipedia. --Him! 15:41, 7 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  • I think it's okay, I don't think there are grounds for deletion on the basis of un-notability, given that there are six and they provide physical broadband connections. If you have a problem with it not being NPOV, then you can contest that. Wikipedia is biased towards computing and the Internet (it's the geek factor), so I don't think this is necessarily out of place Dunc_Harris| 15:51, 7 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep with over 6,000 google hits, it seems to be notable enough. The article could use a good scrubbing with NPOV soap though. -- [[User:Bobdoe|BobDoe]]
  • Keep. Just one of the 7-8 or so larger ISPs in Australia. See right hand side of [1] - Whirlpool generally gives "large" ISPs their own forum. -- Chuq 22:56, 7 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • I thought we already had Swift broadband? Guess not. Keep. Geogre 13:35, 9 Oct 2004 (UTC)
