    • Sigh. You're right. I DID put the header on, but didn't write anything. OK, now I will -- This is a non-notable school. RickK 00:47, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. --Daniel C. Boyer 20:46, 21 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Elite private Catholic school probably comparable to likely pending vfd survivor Xavier College (Melbourne). Alumni includes scandal-plagued U.S. political celebrity Bill O'Reilly. That said, I'm just about certain the endorsement from the Pope is overstated in the present edit; a quick google doesn't readily confirm or disconfirm. Samaritan 00:15, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. When the Pope namedrops you, you're probably notable. Gamaliel 01:40, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, while it's hard to say if the school was itself mentioned by the Pope it is clear that it's founder was. Blessed Chaminade's feast day is celebrated on January 22 and was created on the 3rd of September 2002. Unsure of how to relate to this page. —Florescentbulb 01:50, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • So you're saying keep ANY school NAMED after somebody notable? That's a really bad precedent. RickK 06:24, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)
      • Why is it a bad precedent? (and, if it's what he's saying, it's not a precedent but an explicit decision). anthony 警告 21:48, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. I'm prejudiced in favor of high schools (just like I am against everything lower) as long as the articles are well-written and encyclopedic as opposed to "my school RULZ" or "my school SUX" or "my school is located at 303 S. Noplace St. and the principle is Mr. Bojangles", and this is none of those things, but is succinct and makes me want to know more about the school rather than forgetting about it. If the alledged papal remarks are legit, even more so (and more than the "O'Reilly factor, but since the school seems worthy anyway, that certainly merits inclusion).Rlquall 02:00, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep it. [[User:Radman1|RaD Man (talk)]] 02:17, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • Keep. This issue is going to have to be resolved at some point because it's *sigh*s all round until it is.Dr Zen 08:58, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Merge with Mineola, New York. It appears the alleged papal quote has yet to be verified, and a quick google seemed to be mostly sports results. If the alumni list was more notable, I might be convinced it was a keep. Average Earthman 11:07, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • Keep. This listing is borderline trolling. anthony 警告 21:44, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • That's what I meant. The issue ought to be resolved rather than the deletionist faction keep bringing it up over and over in this manner.Dr Zen 23:13, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • What's "the deletionist faction?" Are they your sworn enemies? Must they be opposed at every turn? Geogre 15:39, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)
      • I'm sorry if you feel the word is intemperate, Geogre. But there is no doubt some identify themselves as "deletionists" (isn't there a page somewhere in meta?) and believe that many subjects should be deleted on principle. I don't "oppose them at ever turn". Another personal attack from you, unfortunately. I oppose anyone who makes it their business to destroy content for reasons of their own personal taste.Dr Zen 00:10, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • Personal taste again? Well, given the fact that I have enunciated a thorough set of criteria, I know you're not referring to me. As for whether there is a "page somewhere in meta" (which you don't read, of course), isn't there a page somewhere in meta where people are encouraged to come make meaningless votes of "Keep" and "You are destroying the encyclopedia!!!!" for schools? Isn't that beyond reason and down to the level of organized trolling? As for "personal attack" by me, I'm sorry that you felt the rhetorical question applied to you. I suppose that's your self-indictment, though, and no accusation from me. Meanwhile, you wish a war on "deletionists." Fork off. By all means. Geogre 02:54, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC)
      • Only when they try to destroy Wikipedia by removing articles like this. anthony 警告 16:08, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • And Anthony sings his song again. "Lincoln High School is a high school in Lincoln," and Anthony says that it's clearly notable, even though he has never heard of it. Geogre 02:54, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC)
      • Your commentary is completely unnecessary. anthony 警告 03:33, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC)
        • It didn't add anything to the discussion of this page. It's perilously close to attacking Anthony personally. I urge Geogre to cease attacking those who vote to keep pages and discuss the pages themselves. I urge him not to make accusations about "campaigns" and not to accuse other editors of "organised trolling". I urge him to cool down a little, perhaps take a break from VfD because it seems to be upsetting him. I will do my part by not responding to any more of the viciousness he pours in my direction. I ask him to make an end to it right here.Dr Zen 03:56, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, and stop deletion trolls. Intrigue 04:25, 18 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • And so, without any reference to the article's content, you must vote keep, because "deletionists" are "trolls?" There is room on this project only for people who agree with your personal standard of what's encyclopedic? Wow. Geogre 15:39, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete. Geogre 15:39, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC) (See how fun it is to just vote "keep" or "delete" without rationale? See how much more fun it is to have your votes determined by a big call-to-action page?)
  • Delete. -- WOT 16:37, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC)
      • Comment Aw, c'mon folks, please "explain your reasoning for every comment you make, even if it is obvious." IMHO that explanation doesn't have to be very long. VfD is really supposed to be a discussion for reaching consensus, not a parliamentary roll call. Unexplained votes don't do anything at all to build consensus. [[User:Dpbsmith|Dpbsmith (talk)]] 18:34, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Schools are inheritantly notable. --Andylkl 08:04, 21 Nov 2004 (UTC)
