Talk:Combining diacritic marks

I'm not familiar with the use of the word macron in this article in a generic sense rather than to mean only the one particular diacritic which is a short horizontal line over a letter.

The article also uses terms vaguely such as "mark", "character", "merge with", "placed after", etc.
