From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Article Michael Howard's response to Blair listed on WP:VFD May 1 to May 7 2004, consensus was to delete. Discussion:

Somebody deleted my comment from the initial listing of this. This article is advocacy, not an encyclopeida article. RickK 22:09, 1 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

  • I give up. What the fuck is wrong with this? john 21:12, 1 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]
  • It was the apostrophe in the link, don't worry about it. Want to make your case now? --Ben Brockert 21:32, May 1, 2004 (UTC)
    • Er, Rick K actually started the vote - said advocacy, not an encyclopedia article. I concur. This is not encyclopedic at all. john 22:00, 1 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]
      • Oh ah. Here's the original: "Advocacy, not an encyclopedia article. RickK 20:39, 1 May 2004 (UTC)"[reply]
  • Delete, unless reorganized. -- Kaihsu 22:03, 2004 May 1 (UTC)
  • Delete. I don't see how this (a) makes any sense, or (b) belongs in an encyclopaedia. --blankfaze 22:36, 1 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]
  • The article is rather pointless given that it doesn't include the statement to which this is a response. I don't know who wrote it but their work could go in several other places where it would be much more use (especially if rewritten in more detached and analytical form). I do think this should be deleted when that has been done. Dbiv 22:38, 1 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think I pulled a muscle in my brain trying to figure this one out. Ow. Delete. - Lucky 6.9 23:55, 1 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Made my head spin. Keep only if there is a major rewrite. -- Chris 73 | (New) Talk 01:08, 2 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]
  • I agree - delete. Deb 17:23, 2 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, unless it can be made encyclopedic: when did this happen, why is it relevant, what was the outcome, who the heck is Michael Howard???? As it stands, it's a lazy substitute for what could have been an informative article. Another way to look at it is: 10 years from now, will someone type 'Michael Howard's response to Blair' when looking for info about the EU enlargement? No. Alcarillo 15:39, 3 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]
    • Michael Howard is the current Leader of the Opposition in the UK. The response is a rather dreary point-by-point interpretation of his response to Tony Blair's statement announcing a referendum in the UK on the European Constitution. As I said previously there's no point to it as a separate article but it could be used as a research basis for a paragraph in Michael Howard or Conservative Party (UK).
