Cash is king[edit]

If anything is to be written about this, it'd probably be better written in economics or a related page. Delete. (I'd suggest merge, but there's hardly anything to merge.) - Furrykef 04:37, 29 Sep 2004 (UTC)

  • It's not nonsense but it is a mere dicdef (a discussion about the meaning and usage of a word or phrase). I see no possibility of expansion. Merge and redirect to cash flow (an article which does need significant expansion). Rossami 16:35, 29 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, 20500 google hits. I think that there is a small but real chance that this could become another All your base are belong to us article, given that the expression is also used to denote other ideas: it's used by Askmen in a humorous (?) article to suggest that cash is a superior form of payment, and it's used by the Christian Science Monitor to talk about the effects of money on politics, similar to the more sardonic version of the Golden Rule. - RedWordSmith 17:38, 29 Sep 2004 (UTC)
    • Google doesn't mean anything here. There are 447,000 hits for "have a nice day", and we don't have a have a nice day article because even though many of us say it every day, it's just not a good subject for an encyclopedia article. Heavy usage of a phrase does not mean we need an article on that phrase. It might have a place on a list of idioms, however. - Furrykef 01:58, 30 Sep 2004 (UTC)

  • Keep - it is a common phrase that not everyone understands the meaning of (unlike 'have a nice day'). The Recycling Troll 15:07, 1 Oct 2004 (UTC)
    • But how does that merit keeping rather than, say, making it a redirect or even outright deletion? That not everybody understands its meaning (which, by the way, I'd debate, but it's not the point) doesn't mean much, because meaning belongs in Wiktionary, not Wikipedia. - Furrykef 23:32, 3 Oct 2004 (UTC)

    • Unfortunately, the explanation added by Thesteve do not actually relate to the economic concept behind the phrase "cash is king". The phrase relates to corporate valuation, not to consumer credit practices. No change of vote. Rossami 16:35, 4 Oct 2004 (UTC)
