Haha, well, okay, that wasn't actually a speedy candidate, but... ok! blankfaze | (беседа!) 23:14, 21 Jul 2004 (UTC)
Agreed, it was not a speedy candidate; it was short, but accurate. That said, it was a foreign language slang dicdef. I've never seen it in print in English nor heard it in conversation in English. I guess it would fall in the same category as chocha which was deleted a while back. My suggestion is to merge it into a gay slang page (don't know what's most appropriate). -- I've restored the article so people can look at it. Wile E. Heresiarch 03:48, 22 Jul 2004 (UTC)
Is this really "slang"? It looks to me like it's just a regular gender change of puta, a word that seems to be attested in most Romance languages. In which case it's just a definition of a regular Spanish word; delete as unencyclopedic if not expanded. Smerdis of Tlön 15:15, 22 Jul 2004 (UTC)
Well, puta is "female prostitute" but puto is not "male prostitute", so there is something other than regular gender change going on here. In any event, puta itself isn't exactly polite; "whore" is probably a more accurate translation. I guess I'm still in favor of a 1-liner in gay slang. Would any native speakers care to weigh in?
