Wikipedia and Sources[edit]

I just thought I'd let you know I read your comments on sources and Wikipedia on the BYU Talk page. I agree completely with them.

Wikipedia has the chance to be a very useful thing because so many people know so much stuff (I mean, that's why I made an account — I saw a page where I knew I could make a real contribution), but as long as it's all fairly anonymous and relatively void of sources and citations, it won't be taken seriously.

As one who is still in college (finishing up next week — finally!), I know the way a professor of mine reacted when a fellow student once asked about using Wikipedia as a source in a paper, and I don't think such reactions are limited to professors or academics only.

Oh well, it's kind of a fun little hobby for now.
