Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alternative metal (1st nomination)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This page is crap: it just lists miscellaneous metal bands with nothing in common other than that they don't necessarily fit into established genres. However, it's worth noting that some of them do: nu-metal (KORN), industrial (NIN), metalcore (Helmet). It's also worth noting that several bands here are in fact not really metal at all. • Looks fine to me; maybe a bit of cleanup required, but certainly not a VFD candidate. sjorford 12:30, 18 Jun 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep: Inherently subjective, and once people get into compound nouns for music or art, things get iffy, but there is now also a link to AMG's page on the category. Geogre 14:05, 18 Jun 2004 (UTC)

  • I really don't think this page should be deleted; it lists a lot of important bands that were important in the development of the genre. TopCamel 14:16, 23 Jun 2004 (UTC)

My question is, what genre? I've never seen or heard anything anywhere about this genre before I came here. Where is this term being used? That, to me, would be the reason for deletion.139.142.23.159
