I note that you have deleted an item I added "Are dead bodies dangerous?". I have added an item in Talk about this. What I added is correct; it can be said that it is off-topic in an encylopedia used for long-term reference. But my intention was to have some chance to bring it to the attention of those dealing with the aftermath. Efforts to bury the dead, if they divert attention form to living, are contraproductive.

I thought your original deletion was sheer vandalism, but presumably you have a reason for it?

This addition need not permanentl;y "contaminate" the encyclopedia, of course, as it can be deleted once irrelevant.

TimComm, re. death tolls without a source[edit]

You reverted one of my changes a few hours ago, the total people presumed dead. You put it at 100,000, since a source said so. However, sources from SEPARATE COUNTRIES (i.e. Sri Lanka plus Indonesia plus...) add up to about 128,000 (now 132,000), which is what I edited it to, and what the note above the table explicitly says to do (add up the numbers, not use separate sources. I'm changing it back, please don't revert unless you have a genuine reason to do so (in which case, post it on my talk page, please. Ral315 08:30, 30 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Re.: "Given geography and the reconstructions of the tsunami from satellite data, effects on Myanmar should be similar to those suffered by Thailand."[edit]

TC -- I see you reverted to the above text. Please see discussion of the article
on this, I object to it on grounds of speculation based on an assumption that the
coasts of Thailand and Myanmar are similarly populated and developed. "Given

geography. . ."? Citation of said "reconstructions" would also help.

Edit summaries[edit]

Hey there. You recently edited some pages I watch, including European Union and Soviet Union. I just wanted to ask if you could include an Edit summary when you edit, so that it is easier to evaluate new changes and to follow the Edit History of those pages. Thanks (and thanks especially for making the infoboxes).  — Saxifrage |  04:00, Jan 9, 2005 (UTC)
