Celebrated 4 April annually throughout the British Commonwealth, Prince Albert Day is a statutory holiday to commemorate the marriage of Prince Albert (Windsor) III on this day in 1898.

Celebration[edit]

The most popular way to celebrate includes taking in the Prince Albert Day parade in London (which passes through Trafalgar Square), which is also broadcast worldwide.

Young children take part in their day off by enjoying traditional British candy such as humbugs, licorice pops, and escargot (the types favoured by Prince Albert himself).
