Was it really a make of car? The only context I've ever heard the term is to mean an old, typically pre-WW2 car, and this mainly from Germans (who think it's the usual English term for the same thing) -- Hotlorp 23:42, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

no, it was never a car make, neither a german nor an english nor american.

Just write the english meaning for an "oldtimer": a person who believes that in former days the world was a better one.

There was NO make of cars named "Oldtimer". The german usage of the world "oldtimer" means every car which is elder than 30 yrs. There were some fights in the german wiki.org/de about this.. .;-))
