There are other meanings of "daisy wheel". The most interesting one is a bizarre gearing apparently created by Aaron Dodd Crane.[1][2][3][4] I think I've sussed how it works (the crucial obscure-journal articles don't seem to be online)...if I can manage an animation I might contribute it.
