USS Liberty incident[edit]

Hi! Since you’ve recently edited the ‘Details in dispute’ section of the article USS Liberty incident, I was wondering whether you could check the attributions of positions in that section, in particular those where it is claimed (or sometimes implied) that the entire Liberty crew hold the view. I don’t know enough about the matter to make any such judgement, but (apart from the issue that some of the crew did not apparently live long enough to voice their views) I am a bit skeptical about e. g. the item on radio communications (my knowledge of naval procedure is very limited, but I imagine most crewmembers would not be standing around radio receivers most of the time). On a related note, the PDF files to which you added links look more like individual positions than collective statements, and I think this deserves proper mention. —xyzzyn 18:02, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for taking the time to write. I'll check the attributions and correct them as best as I can. It is not appropriate for me (or us) to imply that we speak for the whole crew since we are not in touch with all of them. Two of them just surfaced last month and there are many who have not been found or have not come forward.

Warmest regards,

Joe Meadors

TerrorStorm[edit]

Hi. I would like to request your opinion regarding how the liberty attack is portrayed in the online-available video TerrorStorm. Thanks. --Striver 21:50, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Don't have a copy of it and haven't seen it. When I do see it I'll let you know what I think.

Warmest regards,

Joe USS Liberty Survivor

Thank you :) You can see it for free in Google video, the article has a link to it in the "external links" section. here is a copy of the links :) Peace! --Striver 14:57, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

partial removal of content[edit]

Hi, I noticed that in some of your edits, for examples [1] and [2], a large portion of content is being removed. I don't believe that you intended for this to happen. If you are using the google toolbar I believe that it might be to blame. So if you would, please consider removing the google toolbar, or checking over your own edits, in order to avoid the potential loss of content. Thank you. -- malo (tlk) (cntrbtns) 14:18, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It was, indeed, unintentional. Thanks for the advice. I have removed the Google toolbar and will see if the situation improves.

Warmest regards,

Thanks![edit]

Thanks for your contributions to the USS Liberty incident article. I'm a military history buff and applaud your efforts to shed light on the attack. Majoreditor 21:47, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And thanks for your kindness in taking the time to leave a note.
Bear in mind, according to WIKI standards there is no requirement that the article be based on facts -- merely that the contents be a reflection of what is already posted on the internet by what WIKI anonymous monitors deem to be credible and unbiased sources. Really sad[edit]

Man, this is is so incredibly sad, you have my deep sympathy. Would you be interested in E-Mailing me and talk about this issue? Thanks. --Striver - talk 20:08, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Salute to you and your shipmates!![edit]

Joe, I salute you and your shipmates in serving your country. Your contributions to the Liberty incident are absolutely essential and well appreciated by honest editors. I encourage you to maintain vigilance on the article because there are certain disingenuous editors who would remove all your contributions.

Again, thank you for your service to our country and your valuable additions to the Liberty article. Jtpaladin 23:33, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A Little Thank You[edit]

Thank you too, for keeping the article free of agenda and lies. I tried to "discuss" some change into the article a few years ago but failed.

I would like to see the title Name of the article changed to Attack (rather than incident) because there is no other word to describe the event.

My own belief is that the Israel's idea was to sink the USS Liberty and to then blame it on Egypt. Nmollo (talk) 18:44, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
