Vladimir de León[edit]

Alexa rankings do not turn up anything significant because he doesn't have his own domain, and he doesn't have a significant "piece" of it. WhisperToMe 07:15, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete. Wow I think we both put this up at similar times. If this hadn't been created by a series of anonymous edits (B for effort!) I might be persuaded that this wasn't vanity.--ZayZayEM 09:21, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. I guess WhisperToMe forgot to add vfd on the page. Also remove from Leon. utcursch 09:42, Dec 21, 2004 (UTC)
And Weblog, and Salam Pax, and the formerly-botched Vladimir de leon redirect... they're (he's?) nothing if not thorough. --Korath会話 21:41, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. His 'underground hit' gets a whopping 15 Google links. We don't want 'semi-popular' blogs, just the 'extraordinarily popular' ones. - 81.70.91.207 09:47, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • Do not Delete. As a true fan of Vladimir de Leon I think he deserves this article. He'll be big within a few years and he needs a foundation now.--HalleeWalley1 18:02, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)
This was in fact added by Atrios, whose three edits are to the article, here, and here. HalleeWalley1's sole edit is to the article. Also note the nature of the article edits (as well as Jeffwacker's two) and the fact that all three were in a five-minute span. --Korath会話 21:24, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • Do not Delete* Vladimir de Leon is truly a humorous blogger with an internet reputation behind him. He'll need a place to have this information about him in case of interviews, articles, etc.--Jeffwacker 18:13, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. There doesn't appear to be any sufficient evidence of notability, and we need evidence of current notability, not any putative future fame, as Wikipedia isn't for promotion. The presence of two votes saying 'do not delete' from people who haven't contributed to any other article doesn't convince me either. Average Earthman 19:49, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • Do not Delete True, Wiki is not for promotion and he is not that famous, but correct me if I'm wrong, isn't Wikipedia a source for information? If this is true, then why do you want to delete a page that I've created with my own time and work? Listen, I know it doesn't say that I created the article because I wasn't a member until now, but it's true. I wrote the whole thing. If you delete his page this piece of information is gone.
Unsigned; Atrios again. --Korath会話 21:24, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Now, someone above mentioned that Leon only has 15 hits on the Google Search Engine. Where as Maddox of the Best Page in the Universe has less than ten. (I don't know what they searched but I searched Maddox, seeing as his pen name should be reputable and he is after all, an underground hit.) If this page ultimately is deleted, I have a question. If Leon does become reputable within the next few years (as I predict he will be) then will you allow for an article without such a hassle?

Still Atrios --Korath会話 21:24, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)
And just to be complete, Google's showing me 1,520,000 for Maddox. --Korath会話 21:57, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Haha. It was all a joke. I wanted to see how fast you Wiki people would respond to this and you did so swiftly. Congrats. Not even Leon knows it's a joke. Why did I do this? Leon is my blogging enemy. Vanity? If by vanity you mean excessive pride in one's appearance or accomplishments, then no. Leon had nothing to do with this.--Atrios 02:33, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

  • The wikipedia likes jokes. This isn't funny, however. Delete. And 'Blogging Enemy'? hfool 23:23, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)
