Message to Dkionka from Mike Schwartz[edit]

(I was going to add this to [Talk:Gedcom] - as a reply to the "DKionka 17:05, 15 December 2007 (UTC)" comment, in the "GEDCOM XML" section - but it may not be of general interest, and you alone might be able to tell me details of [the extent to which] 6.0 "does not give you much that you can't do with 5.5". So I thought I would just send it to you here:)

Not so sure "Adding support for 6.0 would" really "be a waste of time." Now I do not know anything about 6.0, so this is just my 0.02. If 6.0 can express stuff easily that is hard to represent in 5.5, then I would agree that it is probably a "don't-care" because it would just make things easier for the computer (program), not for the person. So I can see why that would seem to be pointless (a waste of time). However, if 6.0 can be used to represent some stuff, that can let you do things that are impossible with 5.5, then that would be a different story. It might make it possible to do things that (maybe) (sometimes) need to be done. Just an idea. Mike Schwartz (talk) 01:42, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

List of British actors playing Americans[edit]

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article List of British actors playing Americans, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
