Auxiliary bishops do not hold the title of the diocese under which they serve. Instead, they hold the title of their titular see and their vicariate, whether general or episcopal. Only diocesan and coadjutor bishops hold the title of the see under which they serve.

As an example, the title of Most Rev. Gustavo Garcia-Siller would be Bishop of Eslo, Vicar Episcopal of the Diocese of Chicago. Pmadrid 20:42, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)
