Image:Aspidistra.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Aspidistra.jpg. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use {{gfdl}} if you release it under the GFDL, or {{fairuse}} if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Thanks so much, Quadell (talk) (help)[[]] 23:18, Nov 4, 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for getting back with me. How about this picture? Image:De ferrari-wiki.jpg Do you remember where it came from? Quadell (talk) (help)[[]] 16:27, Nov 9, 2004 (UTC)

Yes, you're right. Thanks! (Your English is fine, by the way.) Quadell (talk) (help)[[]] 20:18, Nov 9, 2004 (UTC)
I'd love to join you on the Italian Wikipedia, but the only Italian I know is "ciao" and "Berlusconi deve dimettersi!", so I don't think I could be much help. :) Bye, Quadell (talk) (help)[[]] 21:44, Nov 11, 2004 (UTC)

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:De ferrari-wiki.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. -SCEhardT 06:38, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Lawrence d'arabia.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Lawrence d'arabia.png. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. Abu Badali 10:42, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Corelli-wiki.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Corelli-wiki.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

Picture was a file of mine but I don't remember what was the source. So, you can delete it. Sorry for my English so bad. :) --「Twice28.0 · contributions · talk」 15:58, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:Rossini_caricatura-wiki.bmp[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Rossini_caricatura-wiki.bmp. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

The ByrdBrains[edit]

Hi, the article was deleted since it didn't do anything to establish the notability of the band. There are millions of bands out there, and all of them shouldn't have articles here. In the case of this article, it just said the band exists and what kind of music they play, which isn't enough for an encyclopedic article. If they've released albums, went on an international tour or been the subject of multiple non-trivial publications (see WP:MUSIC for more), the article would probably be kept. The criteria for speedy deletion is less strict, but since there was nothing notable about the band based on the article, it was deleted. - Bobet 21:35, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you don't think the article should be deleted, please add something about the notability of them into the article. Currently, there's only information about who they are, with no reason on why anyone would care. The existence of other articles shouldn't be used as a gauge, since that might just mean that no one's gotten around to deleting them yet (and looking at the articles in the category, some of them look like candidates for deletion in their current form). - Bobet 13:56, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Frescobaldi-wiki.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Frescobaldi-wiki.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:37, 16 April 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Remember the dot (talk) 04:37, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for adding more information to the description page. However, we still need to know who created the drawing, or at least approximately when it was created. Where exactly did you get it? Is it a 100-year-old drawing, or did a modern artist do it? The name of the artist would be very helpful. —Remember the dot (talk) 17:05, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi!
sorry for my English :-)
Really, I don't know who was the author of this portrait ... I think it's possible it was Claude Mellan (see Commons:Image:Girolamo Frescobaldi (1583-1643), engraving by Claude Mellan (1619).jpg) but I am not sure. So, if you think it's better to delete the image, don't worry: do it. :-) Good bye. --「Twice28.0 · contributions · talk」 08:59, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
