Fate of Berserk article(s)[edit]

Hi Yas, hope you don't mind me posting here, I recently did edits on the Berserk (manga) and Berserk (anime) pages, and frankly, I agree that the two should be merged, but I'm trying to decide the best format for such a merger. Care to discuss this with me here? Or in my talk page, or perhaps it would be best in the discussion page of one of the articles under discussion? Lord Shitzu 02:42, May 24, 2004 (UTC)

Hello, Lord Shitzu, thank you for your message. I am a Japanese, and I check interlanguage links of Japanese mangas and animes mainly. Then, I am not so good at English for discussing something. And, honestly to it, I don't know about Berserk at all.

Article Licensing[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "{{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}}" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. what does it do when someone adds that last line of code e.g. "ja:石橋山の戦い"

I mean, it doesn't show up on the page visibly... but I'm curious what it is, so I can decide if I should add it to my pages myself, instead of waiting for someone else to come in and add it as if I'd done it wrong... thanks.

Kurushima-Kaikyo Bridge[edit]

Hi, I merged the three articles about the Kurushima-Kaikyo Bridge into one. Not being a speaker of Japanese, I don't know if the translation of the name is correct, or if the new article links to the correct article in Japanese. Would you be able to take a look at it? I have a similar request with Seto-Ohasi Bridge. There's several more Japanese names needed, and I don't know if there is a Japanese article for this bridge or not. Thank you so much. I had no idea that Great Seto Bridge existed. It is not linked to any bridge pages. The policy is to name things by their most commonly used english names. So which would is the better choice? "Seto-Ohasi Bridge" or "Great Seto Bridge"? The web-site for the bridge uses "Seto-Ohasi". I am not good at English (Category:User en-1 :-)), so I don't know which is more commonly used in English. In Google, 328 for "Great Seto Bridge", and 51 for "Seto-Ohasi Bridge". AND, 716 for "Seto-Ohashi Bridge". Does it become helpful? Yas 12:00, 21 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Bridges in Japan[edit]

Thank you so much for linking articles about bridges in Japan to the articles in Japanese. Can I ask you for a few favors?

Could you look at the pictures in those articles and determine who the photographers are? I would like to copy the photos to the English Wikipedia, and need to post the source of the photos and the photographer. They are all marked GFDL, but I cannot tell who the photographers are. You can add the information (in English) to the Japanese page for each picture.
Many of the articles in Category:Bridges in Japan are missing some important things that are difficult for me to figure out having no knowledge of Japanese. If you could add the name of the bridge in Japanese, that would be great. While you are at it, if you could add an information that you can find from the Japanese articles.
Am I correct that "Ohashi" means bridge and it is redundant to say "XXX Ohashi Bridge"?

If it is only name of the bridge, I think I can help.
To be sure, "Ohashi" means "a big bridge" in Japanese. But, I cannot decide whether "XXX Ohashi Bridge" is a redundant way or not. It is a problem of English custom. Account Hero Go Ku's Tradition of Travel around Europe![edit]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Account Hero Go Ku's Tradition of Travel around Europe!, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. ご返事を有難う御座います。仰る通り、移動理由を「typo」として省略しても、正確に理解が出来ると思いますが、事情は他にあります。普通の英文等ではマクロン等の記号は付されません。日本語では短音・長音の区別は理解上、中々必要なので、日本語をローマ字にした際、より適切でマクロン（母音の上にある棒）が付されます。それは日本関係の研究者や大学向けの論文等では常識なのですが、一般人向け新聞や雑誌や本等では概して付されません。百科事典としては、より正確が望ましいのですが、正直の事を言いますと、可也の抵抗はあります。そのせいで、あちこちで議論が続々起こってしまいます。抵抗とは、日本語の言葉を英語として書いているから記号なんて要らない、打ちづらい、又は一般人には記号の意味は通じないと言った事です。仕方無く、TokyoやOsakaみたいな例外もあります。様々なる議論の挙句、WP:MOS-JAでは本百科事典で利用する可きローマ字規則等を決めています。妥協もあり、完璧ではありませんが、一応マクロンは認められています。なので、"Per WP:MOS-JA"を理由として使えば批判を避ける事が出来ると思います。（このperとは理由を意味しています。）
