I'm a Pakistani-American from the MidWestern US. I like to keep tabs on the old country, and read the online pakistani newspapers most days, so I think I know what's going on there. Plus, I go there during the winter holidays. It's fun! It's adventure! And, despite what you may have heard, it's not that dangerous: even Karachi, Pakistan's most violent city, has a murder rate below the United States average. You can exploit this, 'cos hardly anybody knows this, and the country doesn't get that many tourists. So when you brag to your friends about all your amazing hair-raising exploits and escapades in Pakistan, it's unlikely that they'll be able to discern your .. (ahem) .. exaggerations.
