User talk:Sketchee/Jan2005
Hi
[edit]Just wanted to remark that I think your comment on WikiProject is very insightful. Also, are you the same Sketchee from #RPGComics on Nightstar or Newnet or somewhere like that? I hung around there for a while, but you probably don't remember me. Andre (talk) 19:38, Jan 1, 2005 (UTC)
The first exception bothers me as people declare things as obvious "vandalism" too commonly and others don't feel that level of herecy dispute. It's become the Wikipedia equivalent of Godwin's law.--Sketchee 01:44, Jan 2, 2005 (UTC)
- I'm intrigued by your comment. An admin today can do as you say and delete something calling it "vandalism". While the Proposal VIII doesn't change that aspect, it would help ensure proper deletion in almost every other case. Deleting pure vandalism, as defined at Wikipedia:Vandalism, is a core protection that we probably shouldn't interfere with. -- Netoholic @ 04:19, 2005 Jan 2 (UTC)
- I think it's all about baby steps. I can't see a measure restricting the effectiveness of anti-vandalism to go through. Indeed, I could see a future, if the "tag and bag" measure passes, for us to propose a technical solution from the MediaWiki developers. Guess I can't see why you'd pass up a partial solution, but it's your choice. thanks. -- Netoholic @ 05:08, 2005 Jan 2 (UTC)
Greetings!
[edit]Just wanted to say hello and comment on the great work you've done organizing Wikipedia:WikiProject Composers, and in general. :-) Mindspillage (spill your mind?) 07:34, 3 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Adventurers!
[edit]I had to remove almost all the material from Adventurers! due to its being blatantly copied from the Adventurers! site. Unless you've got permission to use it, it's going to need to be re-written pretty much from scratch. -- Cyrius|✎ 06:43, 14 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- Could you provide some documentation on the talk page? It's important to do so when you use other people's material, largely to avoid this sort of problem. -- Cyrius|✎ 17:43, 14 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- Okay, just making sure you didn't either forget or get pissed off about it. -- Cyrius|✎ 05:43, 25 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for your contributions to wiki. Adding the fine photographs of Carl Van Vechten to articles like that of William Warfield helps make this a better encyclopedia and honors both men. Awesome. Cheers, -Willmcw 12:15, 25 Jan 2005 (UTC)
