Not a "Location"[edit]

This category should not be a category of Locations in New Zealand. the reason is simple. All places in New Zealand have two category designations: a location and a type.

The locations are the section of the country they are in: e.g., Otago, Auckland, Hawke's Bay - as explained in the text in this category. Items of New Zealand geography are thus divided by region. The types are the variety of geographical feature they are: e.g., Islands, lakes, towns. islands are thus quite clearly a type category.

All the islands in the category "Islands of New Zealand" are already listed by location - Stewart Island/Rakiura is in the "'Southland" section, for instance. As a type category, Islands of New Zealand belongs with all the other type categories in "New Zealand geography".

The only islands which belong in the location section are those outlying islands not in any of the other subcategories of new zealand location. That is why that category is a subcategory of both "Locations in New Zealand" (location) and "Islands of New Zealand" (type). Grutness|hello?
