Botanical gardens[edit]

Botanical gardens may not be protected areas according to the ICUN. Alan Liefting 08:50, 21 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

As of 2014, three protected areas within the Commonwealth jurisdiction described as "botanical gardens" are listed as IUCN category IV - please refer http://www.environment.gov.au/system/files/pages/d00ca066-1c8c-412a-9e16-2a37647454a7/files/capad2014com.xlsx.
