Question about current age[edit]

The statement "considering that he is 75 years old" doesn't seem feasible. It should have "as of 2005" mentioned. However, Scarfo's age is not on here, so that is also problematic.--Benfergy 02:55, Mar 31, 2005 (UTC)

Unclear[edit]

From the article:

Scarfo was eventually convicted on April 5, 1989 in Common Pleas Court of first degree murder [...] and sentenced to life imprisonment[...]

His son, Nicky, Jr., was almost murdered on Halloween 1989[...] Scarfo Sr. he got him out of town and inducted him into the Lucchese crime family of New York for protection. That same year, he was imprisoned for six months for parole violation for having a gun. While in prison, he was indicted for RICO and the murder of a suspected informant.

Who was indicted for RICO and the murder of a suspected informant, Jr. or Sr.? Sarfo Sr. had already been sentenced to life by Halloween 1989, right? So "while in prision he was indicted" refers to Sarfo Jr.? Or is the sentencing of Sr. mentioned twice in the article? AxelBoldt 05:49, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Books on Scarfo[edit]

On March 15th 1981 Phil Testa was killed by a nail bomb detonated beneath his porch. The murder was intended to look like retaliation by the Northeast Philly Irish Mob (The "K&A Gang") for the murder of John McCullough. McCullough had been friends with one of the leaders of the Philly Irish Mob, and it was initially feared that they were targeting Scarfo's mob in retaliation. The truth was that the killing was in fact done by members of Scarfo's own crime family. Peter Casella had hoped to ascend to Boss by having Testa killed. Frank "Chickie" Narducci was in on the plot as well and Rocco Marinucci was the man who personally detonated the bomb by remote control.

The sources for this edit are from two books.

1: Confessions of a second story man, Junior Kripplebauer and the K&A gang by Allen M. Hornblum 2: Black Bros. Inc, The rise and fall of Philadelphia's Black Mafia by Sean Patrick Griffin.

This is fairly typical for a biography. It's in the lead, as part of a basic description of the person. It's in the inforbox as a general data point. It's in the prose description of his background. Birth info also shows up in the Category:1929 births and in the hidden Persondata at the end of the article. I agree with this. As I have commented about why I deleted most of the article "information", it seems the entire article has been typed by someone watching a YouTube video about Nicky Scarfo and has adopted his/her own way of detailing his biography. I will type up and complete the article and have reliable sources to back up Nicky Scarfo' story shortly. This article is important regarding knowledge and information about organized crime in America and so should be treated that way, seeing as Nicky Scarfo led a large Italian-American crime family and countless other things involving crime

I didn't see it mentioned in the article but weren't Nicodemo's maternal uncles Nicholas, Michael and Joseph Piccolo working for Angelo Bruno how Scarfo got in with the mob?
