Languages[edit]

Moon Machine[edit]

Does someone have a source for the statements about Moon Machine being recorded for this album. Its style doesn't quite fit in, and the sounds used have more in common with Waiting For Cousteau than this album. Crossbottle (talk) 19:35, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I see someone added that the sounds of 'Moon Machine' were used in Calypso I. I think we need a source on this, or it could easily be the other way round - that the sounds of Calypso I were used on Moon Machine which, after all, achieved mainstream release *after* Waiting For Cousteau. Moon Machine was originally released in 1986, as a B-side to the 12" extended Special Remix of Rendez vous 4, though it had appeared on a flexidisc too. I actually have a copy of the 12" single in my possession to verify that it does appear there. However, I too have read that Moon Machine is a hold over from work on the Zoolook session, which finally turned up a couple of years down the line. I'll have to dig out something to corroborate this, but the fact that it is contemporaneous with RV at very least is not in doubt (see also [[1]]).

"Woolloomooloo" AND "Wooloomooloo"[edit]

There is a hyperlink for the song title "Wooloomooloo", to the Australian suburb "Woolloomooloo". This is incorrect & I recall viewing an Australian television interview in 1985 (whilst on tour to promote the album) where the interviewer made the comparison between the Song & Suburb, and how the two names were almost identical. Jean Michel was quick to point out that it would have been good to have known the suburb name at the time of writing the song, however that it was co-incidental. The genesis of the song name "Wooloomooloo" was to do with the tonal qualities of the "oo" sound & how it lent itself to be sampled... Different versions of tracks appearing on different releases[edit]

I have added a reference in the main body of the article to changes between different versions of the albums, where either the original or remixed versions of both Zoolook and Zoolookologie are included (I own two versions that have just this difference - one Polydor, one Sony). The different versions of these albums do appear in the musicbrainz catalogue and there does appear to be a wikidata identifier that links them, so I'm mulling over how best that info can be cited set within the page. Infobox[edit]

I've edited the album's info box slightly to pull data direct from wikidata. This is working...sort of, though it does provide a small problem in the chronology box, where pulling the title of Rendez-vous now grabs a disambiguation box. This is faintly annoying. Otherwise, things seem to work broadly as they should. I suspect someone won't like it and might possibly revert, but... Illuminatusds; talk 16:58, 14 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The first two tracks have more than 1 index in cue sheet, maybe they are divided to parts? Here is the cue sheet for those 2 tracks:

IMHO this is a rather important album as it was one of the first I'm aware of that used vocal sampling to such a degree as an integral part of the music.
