Jessica LunsfordMurder of Jessica Lunsford — The overwhelming majority of the article is about Jessica's murder, not about Jessica, herself. Laladoodle92 (talk) 12:53, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support this person is WP:1E notable, so it should be about the murder. A profile of the victim would be in the murder article, so no information would be list. 65.93.12.101 (talk) 11:16, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per WP:CRIME/WP:1E. —  AjaxSmack  01:15, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per WP:1E. The event itself appears to be notable, but the person herself is not. Jenks24 (talk) 08:10, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - I think it should stay at its current name. Much emphasis was put on Jessica as a person when the case was at its peak in media. And actually less so the case itself or the man murdering her. So I oppose.--BabbaQ (talk) 10:51, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • The article doesn't contain a shred of biographical detail of note, and the subject was not a public figure (or of any public note) prior to her murder. You couldn't get a more textbook case of WP:VICTIM; if the crime itself is deemed notable then the only article should be on the crime and titled as such. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward: not at work) - talk 12:18, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
      • I have to disagree that there was much focus on Jessica as a person, when the case was in the media. The focus was that a little girl had been kidnapped from her bedroom, and then the focus was that this little girl was buried alive. There really wasn't that much interest in Jessica, herself, which is evident by the only personal information in this article being her birthday and hometown. Merger proposal[edit]

Formal request has been received to merge the article John Couey into Murder of Jessica Lunsford; dated: July 2018. Proposer's Rationale (proposed by IP): Couey's only real notable crime was killing Lunsford and most of his article talks about that crime, which is already covered in this murder article. Discuss here. Richard3120 (talk) 20:58, 15 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose - The Couey article is notable in its owm right. I personally dont see a reason for merging. --BabbaQ (talk) 23:19, 15 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support as it is usually done for people who have committed or only known for one crime (like Sarah Kolb and Cory Gregory, who killed Adrianne Reynolds in 2005; Tatsuya Ichihashi, who killed Lindsay Hawker in 2007; Brittany Norwood, who killed a Lululemon coworker in 2011; or even Charles Carl Roberts, the perpetrator of the 2006 Amish School shooting; or Salman Ramadan Abedi, the suicide bomber of last year's Manchester bombing). Sure Couey committed another crimes before he killed that poor little girl, but I cannot find any significant or long-term coverage for any any them. In fact, the section that talks about his past does not even have any sources to verify anything. The Legendary Ranger (talk) 00:01, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
